Volkshilfe Wien is a social enterprise active in reuse. Wutraum is a private company that provides a space for customers to release their energy and life frustrations by throwing and breaking items at their workshops.
Instead of using new items in their workshops, Wutraum purchases defective and unsaleable items from social enterprises such as Volkshilfe Wien. The items, which would otherwise be discarded, are used by Wutraum customers to be thrown and broken.
This partnership offers a recurring income stream for Volkshilfe to support its social mission, while also making use of items that cannot be sold in their shops and would have to be disposed of. By avoiding the use of new items in Wutraum’s workshops, the partnership also prevents additional waste.

If the need arises again for more materials, I would explore extending the collaboration to another social enterprise, Caritas. With the increased demand, these partnerships provide us with two reliable sources for materials in Vienna, where unsaleable goods find new use and social enterprises get extra income.”
