Open letter: Support public investments for a stronger, more resilient and sustainable economy
Together with over 80 organisations and academics, RREUSE co-signed the open letter initiated by the Fiscal Matters Coalition to call on higher social and environmental public investments as a key priority for the 2024 – 2029 EU mandate.
The letter, addressed to all EU27 heads of state and governments, expressed concern over the return of overly restrictive fiscal policy and warned about the risks of deepening existing economic, environmental, and social challenges at a time when such investments are critically needed.
Among other requests, the letter calls on ensuring public subsidies are targeted to support social and circular economy organisations that put reuse and repair at their core and ensure access to funding opportunities.
