Answer to the Public Consultation on the Evaluation of the Textile Labelling Regulation

RREUSE actively contributed to the evaluation of the Textile Labelling Regulation (TLR) and participated in the impact assessment concerning its potential revision. By engaging in the European Commission’s public consultation, RREUSE shares its insights on the shortcomings of the current Regulation and proposes relevant policy options for its amendment.

RREUSE supports a potential revision of the TLR, aiming to enhance the circularity of the textile sector. This would be achieved by providing consumers with accurate and comprehensive information regarding the sustainability and potential for circularity of textile products.

The revised Regulation could significantly improve the efficiency of the textile sorting process significantly by providing more detailed and reliable information to textile sorters, including social enterprises from the RREUSE network.
