During the RREUSE Network’s General Assembly held in November 2023, we welcomed two new associate members as part of our growing community. We warmly welcome these new members, who will significantly contribute to our shared goals, vision, and mission. We look forward to working closely with them and benefiting from their expertise and experience in the field. Their addition to our network is an excellent opportunity for us to strengthen our community further and expand our impact!

  • Northern Ireland Resources Network (NIRN) is the representative body for re-use and repair organisations. Their aim is to promote sustainable re-use and repair as a practical way of reducing waste in Northern Ireland and developing opportunities in the Circular Economy. NIRN’s vision is to ensure the continual circulation of goods and materials in a community for the benefit of everyone.
  • Zadruga Dobrote is a Slovenian cooperative that employs people facing socio-economic exclusion for the processing of used textiles. As part of the Tekstilnica project, they are involved in continuing or upgrading the social entrepreneurial idea of collecting, sorting, processing and selling used clothes and textiles, which would otherwise end up as waste. They create employment opportunities and green jobs for vulnerable groups of first-time job seekers and unemployed older people over 50 and encourage ecological volunteering and public awareness.

Welcome to RREUSE, NIRN and Zadruga Dobrote!

In addition, Emmaus Europe upgraded from Associate to Effective membership. This will allow them to deepen their collaboration in the governance and decision-making of RREUSE. Emmaus Europe is a strong network of solidarity organisations and has been part of a broader global movement since it joined RREUSE in 2017. They are a valuable ally in spreading the message of social inclusion as an inherent part of the part of the circular economy.
