Following the success of RREUSE’s 1st international workshop for social enterprises working in the field of used textile management, which saw 60 participants from 10 different countries, the next edition will take place on 10-11 December in Soissons France in close cooperation with Emmaus France and Le Relais.
The aim of the workshop is to:
– facilitate dialogue amongst social enterprises about the current state of the used-textile market
– explore the opportunities that exist in closer cooperation at local / regional / international level
– discuss the policy needs of the sector at EU level and beyond
– facilitate networking amongst social enterprises in Europe
Highlights will include:
– Visit to textile sorting centre operated by Le Relais Soissons
– Discussions of the current market situation for used textiles from leading experts including Andreas Voget, Fairwertung
– Discussion on policy needs of the sector ranging from the definition of waste, the application of extended producer responsibility to textiles and implementation of EU waste and waste shipment rules
– Presentation on the new European Economic Interest Grouping for textiles
– Debates on the roles of local authorities in supporting social enterprise
